Giovan Battista Rini was a 19th-century anatomist known for creating preserved human specimens, often described as "mummified", many still housed in the Museo di Salò. Something of a local medical-mystic figure in the Saló area. Rini is shown here in a dim, contemplative study beside a skeleton.
