1860-1926 France
Charles-Amable Lenoir, a student of the famed academic painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau, was a highly skilled artist who embraced the academic traditions of his time. He regularly exhibited at the Paris Salons, winning multiple awards and gaining recognition for his painterly skill. Yet despite his success during his lifetime, Lenoir, like many of Bouguereau's students, is somewhat forgotten today, overshadowed by the fame of his mentor.
