Romanoz Gvelesiani (1859–1884) was a Georgian painter and one of the pioneers of realism in Georgian art. Known for his portraits and genre scenes he captured the essence of Georgian life and despite his untimely death at 25, his work laid the groundwork for professional art in Georgia.
